    Planet has over 50 years experience building complex machines and assemblies. We are able to evaluate customer designs and suggest an efficient method of assembly and part fitment. Our value added processes include mechanical assembly and finishing to customer requirements.

    Located in Cincinnati, our central location puts many subcontractors for heat treating, grinding and plating only minutes away from our facility. Planet can stock finished or semi-finished assemblies and components to which keeps customer inventories low, and allows quick response to order changes.     Planet manufactures specialty hydraulic motors, valves, and pumps that have been used for applications demanding precision and durability. We produce a range of motors that have been used such diverse applications as: personnel carrier turret operation, submarine controls, machine tool cutters, and motion picture camera controls.     Planet offers specialized solutions for turret lathe live tooling applications. Using our unique, patent pending designs, we have eliminated many of the failure modes of standard live tooling and increased the duty cycle to eliminate duplicate tools in your operation. With the use of externally cooled bearings, the Planet Live Tool can run long cycle times without the heating or wear of traditional tools.

    Current product offerings include tools for Mazak, Okuma, and Hyundai/Kia turret lathes. Please contact our applications engineers to discuss solutions for your specific application.

    Planet supplements our contract machining operation with ability to weld & fabricate various metal components to demanding standards. Our typical fabricated component is machined or assembled into the finished product, and our systems can provide traceability through subcontract processes.

    Drawing Conversion– We can translate your drawing in virtually any format. We have the ability to process most available 2D & 3D CAD and solid model electronic drawings, or can convert manual drawings if needed.

    Measurement Capability – Our dimensional measurement systems use large Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM’s) with a high degree of accuracy and precision. All our measuring equipment is traceable to NIST.

    Test Equipment – In addition to dimensional measurement, Planet has ability to functional test hydraulic motors and systems based on customer requirements.
